Ok so today I read on my friend, Alexis's group, that she has challenged everyone in the group to blog about their health and life in general. She has made this challenge to help ourself in check.
So in starting this blog entry I am accepting her challenge. For most people weight "loss" is their biggest issue or concern. However I am on the opposite side of the spectum. I have difficulties gaining weight and as a breastfeeding mother has gone to the fact of keeping my weight on that I already have. Now I have always had issues gaining weight ever since I was little. No one really ever thought anything of it, "oh she will outgrow this" I never got over 115 in my weight until highschool in wich in highschool I really only gained 5 pounds. After highschool I was able to get up to about 120-125. Most would say this is a great weight but with my tall frame of 5'8" I have a hard time finding clothes that fit in my waist and are NOT highwaters on me.Now prior to my first "full term" pregnancy I was roughly 120-125 ( I say full term because My very first baby had misscarried). At full term prior to delivery I weighed roughly 140. Most of which was baby, water, placenta ( all that fun stuff). Post baby I guess I weighed 130. So really didn't have much ''baby '' weight to lose but I WANTED TO KEEP THAT WEIGHT!! Well in my nurturing ways I breast fed my child and lost my weight in a week. I was sad :(. However I did maintain my prepregnancy weight till close to 9 months post baby. Where then I was told I was looking too skinny and people were worried I was even eating at all. I love eating. Provided I like the food.
Problem starts with my foods of preferance fruits and veggies still good for me but not much for keeping weight on.My second food preferences is Italiano. Bring on the pasta!!!One of my other factors that I have to take in consideration is that my husband wanted to "lose" his weight and keep it off. Clearly a problem of opposites attract lol. However I did stay and maintain 125 after my first son. Same happened for my second son. But I did lose my weight a bit slower in the beginning(not much though).
Now he is 14 1/2 months and still nurses at least 2x a day. And unfortunatly I am now at 113 the weight I was at in highschool.Alexis showed me this site that I have just started today. I already love it!! Its not just made for those that want to lose weight. It actually has the option for wanting to GAIN.
This site takes all my info and personalizes how many calories I need in a day. It also tells me the amount of carbs fat and proteins I need and lets me know a safe amount of calorie loss I can have and still gain the weight I need to. It also has a water counter, counting how many glases of water I drink daily. But that is not all it also lets you put in the foods I eat that day and counts the calories and everything for me so that I don't have to try and figure it all out.So far I have dranken 2 glasses of water and taken in 1,270 calories of 2,020, g carbs of 278 g, 38 g fat of 67 g, and 31 g protein of 76 g through the day.
Now for most of you, you wouldn't want to go over your goal amounts but for me these are my lowest numbers that I should go. Starting today I am just going to eat what I eat and see what my numbers come out to be then I will start adding in more on top of what I had just so I can get a rough idea of what I was like prior to my changes. So after today, for 1 week I will only be adding my food log at night after my last snack. Then I will then figure out how many of each catagorie I need to add up to get my lowest goal ammount!
Well now seems im starting to babble so Im out plus need to make dinner!
Ooo I am so excited :D you started a blog- I use my blog to write about anything and everything luvs friend :D
