Well got my Saturday off on the right track after a not so healthy breakfast choice of Papa Murphy's S'mores Dessert Pizza slice and cup of Coffee.
I went to the park and took my two kids with me. I let my (almost) 3 year old play on the playground, while I took a 30 min slow paced walk around the playground with my (almost) 15 mo. in the stroller.
While doing so I concentrated on keeping my tummy in a firm posture. 15 min into my walk, I was feeling a warmth in my left side. It felt really good!
Also while on my circular walk around the park there were some people there that had brought 2 boxer pups and one decided to join me. On our second trip around with the boxer pup the second wanted to join this started a puppy argument with the first. I guess only he wanted to walk with me and not let the other join. It was so cute and really makes me want a pup of my own. I think this will be my every Saturday, Monday, Wednesday routine. ( Now to just keep my routine L O L) that is the hard part! Hoping to make it a full family trip on Monday's and Wednesday's since Hubby is off of work. I think once a month I will graduate to a slightly faster pace so that I can slowly strengthen everything that needs to strengthen in order to get to a full strength run! Afterwards I did a little bit of stretching of my legs!
As far as any strength training goes I am not sure how I will go about doing that yet. I am kinda a wuss when it comes to muscle pain. L O L so that may take some getting used to but for now going for walks 3x a week is a big feat!
Ah the muscle pain is good for ya! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have read somewhere that being sore isn't necessary for toning it- you gotta approach strength training with the idea of drinking plenty of water afterward and implement stretching into the mix. After I have done strength training I opt to stretch first thing in the morning- sleeping can make you stiff- getting those muscles relaxed and moving helps the blood flow- which in turn helps the soreness. :D
Thank you :)
